Popular Netflix TV Show Ending After Season 3 Renewal

A popular Netflix detective mystery will end after its upcoming third season. The Netflix TV show’s second season debuted on the platform earlier this year.

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder has been renewed for a third season, but it’s also been announced that it will be its final season. The show, led by Emma Myers, who rose to fame in Wednesday, is based on author Holly Jackson’s novels.

“I am ecstatic that we are able to bring A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder to its (bloody) conclusion,” said Jackson, who also writes and executive produces the show. “As Good As Dead is my favourite of the book series and it’s by far my favourite season of the show too. You’ll see Pip as you’ve never seen her before. It’s dark, breathless, horrible and… somehow still manages to be funny. Come on back to Little Kilton for the final time…if you dare.”

Netflix also confirmed that Season 3 has already wrapped production and will debut on the streamer in 2027. The final season will have a lower episode count, down from six in Season 2 to four episodes next year. Season 3 will adapt As Good as Dead, the third book in Jackson’s trilogy featuring Pippa Fitz-Amobi.

Of course, the final season will see Myers, Zain Iqbal, Henry Ashton, Asha Banks, Jude Morgan-Collie, Eden H Davies, and Yali Topol Margalith reprise their roles. No other details were shared about the final season, except an intriguing tease that reads, “Pip will need all of her wits about her to solve the ultimate mystery — and save herself from a deadly fate.”

“I’m very happy that we get to bring everyone season 3 of A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder,” said Myers. “Thank you so much to everyone who has given this show love and support throughout! This has truly been an incredible experience and Pip will be a character I will never forget. Book 3 is my favorite of all the books, so I’m very excited to show everyone what we’ve done. Get ready for a crazy time!”

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is produced by Sophie Klein and Sophie MacClancy and directed by Tom Vaughan. Its executive producers are Matthew Read, Simon Crawford Collins, and Frith Tiplady for Moonage Pictures; Danielle Scott-Haughton and Katherine Bond for the BBC; alongside Holly Jackson, Emma Myers, and Tom Vaughan.

“After solving the Andie Bell case, Pip is determined to fix the fallout – and stay away from any more investigations. But as Max Hastings’ trial approaches, Connor’s brother Jamie suddenly disappears, and Pip finds herself in a race against time to find him,” reads Season 2’s logline.

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder Season 2 is streaming now on Netflix.
