Scary Movie 6’s Deleted Melania Trump Joke Revealed by Anna Faris

Scary Movie 6 almost went there with a bold political joke that didn’t make the final cut. Anna Faris revealed a deleted Melania Trump reference and explained the MAGA-inspired direction she pushed for Cindy Campbell’s return.

A cut Scary Movie 6 joke would’ve turned Cindy into a MAGA supporter

Anna Faris pushed for her Scary Movie 6 character to embrace a politically charged identity. The actress revealed a cut joke during an interview with Dexerto. She wanted Cindy Campbell to reflect a specific real-world archetype in the sequel.

Faris described her vision for the character’s updated persona in the long-awaited franchise return. “I was always pushing for Cindy to be classic MAGA rabbit hole,” she told the outlet. “The kind of person that you saw outside of the Walmart during quarantine, that was raising some kind of crazy a– fuss.”

The actress also shared details about a specific Melania Trump reference that did not survive editing. “There was a moment where I’m getting just wasted, just so drunk,” Faris explained. “I’m in my truck, of course, and I look into the rearview mirror and I say, ‘Be best, Cindy Campbell. Be best.'” She added, “That didn’t make it, but I liked my little winking there.”

The former First Lady launched her “Be Best” campaign in 2018 to combat cyberbullying. Critics widely scrutinized the initiative at the time, given Donald Trump’s notorious online behavior.

Despite the cut, Faris remained unfazed about the provocative direction she took with the character. “You know, what are you gonna do? You gonna be mad at Cindy?” she joked. She also noted, “I’m in a movie that is truly the most offensive movie ever made.” Furthermore, Faris continued, “I think I can kind of do anything. It liberated me.”

Meanwhile, Scary Movie 6 reunites Faris with Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, and Regina Hall. The sequel notably marks Faris’ return after sitting out 2013’s Scary Movie 5, which starred Ashley Tisdale. Faris originally broke out as parody final girl Cindy Campbell in the Wayans Brothers’ Scary Movie back in 2000.
