Does Hokum Have a Post-Credits Scene at the End?

Viewers are curious to know whether Hokum features a mid-, post-, or end-credits scene. Directed by Damian McCarthy, the gothic supernatural horror film follows Ohm Bauman, an American author who travels to a secluded hotel in rural Ireland to scatter his parents’ ashes. There, he encounters disturbing stories about a witch said to haunt the hotel’s honeymoon suite. As eerie visions and buried memories resurface, Ohm confronts the darkest parts of his past.

With the movie now in theaters, many viewers are wondering whether they should stay through the credits for an additional scene.

Is There a mid or post-credits scene at the end of Hokum?

There are no mid-, post-, or end-credits scenes in Hokum. Viewers can leave the theater once the credits start rolling.

Many films include bonus scenes during or after the credits to tease a sequel or expand on the story. Franchises like Marvel often use them to hint at future installments or character arcs. However, Hokum tells a self-contained story with no major loose ends, and there has been no official announcement regarding a sequel.

Although the film has earned positive reviews and performed well at the box office, director Damian McCarthy has avoided making sequels to his previous horror films, including Caveat and Oddity.

In an interview with Dread Central, McCarthy shared that he already has plans for his next horror project. Reflecting on his experience making horror films, he said he now feels more confident in crafting effective scares and wants his next movie to be “the ultimate haunted house horror movie.”

“I really feel like if I was to make another horror film, I think I’d really nail it,” McCarthy said. “For my next film, I definitely want to make the ultimate haunted house movie. I have the script … and I think that next I definitely want to make one more out-and-out horror movie and just apply everything I’ve learned to the ultimate haunted house horror movie.”

Hokum is now playing in theaters.
