Netflix unveiled the release date and first-look photos for Vladimir, a new limited series starring Rachel Weisz and Leo Woodall.
Vladimir stars Weisz as the unnamed protagonist, a writer and professor who becomes obsessed with her new colleague, Vladimir (Woodall), at her small liberal arts college. Vladimir is based on Julia May Jonas’ bestselling novel of the same name.
“There’s definitely comedy and drama. It’s mischievous and a good tonal cocktail for exploring some very serious subjects and issues,” Weisz told Tudum. “Her fantasy is about the power of desire — the invigorating, stimulating, inspiring, and revivifying feeling that she gets from her obsession with Vlad. What it’s about is coming back to life in a certain way [after lying] dormant for some time.”

When is the Vladimir release date?
Vladimir will premiere on Netflix on March 5, 2026. The TV show will consist of eight 30-minute episodes.
“When a passionate but reckless professor’s world begins to unravel, she finds herself dangerously fixated on her magnetic new colleague,” the Netflix synopsis reads. “Seduction and obsession collide in Vladimir — a provocative limited series brimming with forbidden desires, razor-sharp wit, and charismatic, unpredictable characters. As boundaries blur and secrets simmer, she’ll risk everything to bring her most scandalous fantasies to life.”
Besides Weisz and Woodall, Vladimir stars John Slattery as John, Ellen Robertson as Sid, and Jessica Henwick as Cynthia. Additional cast members include Matt Walsh, Kayli Carter, Miriam Silverman, Mallori Johnson, Tattiawna Jones, and Louise Lambert.
Vladimir is written, created, and executive produced by Jonas. Weisz is an executive producer alongside Sharon Horgan, Stacy Greenberg, Kira Carstensen, Jason Winer, Jon Radler, Shari Springer Berman, and Robert Pulcini.
Directors include Springer Berman & Pulcini (episodes 1–2), Francesca Gregorini (episodes 3, 6–7), and Josephine Bornebusch (episodes 4–5).
