Donald Trump’s Surprise ‘Cameo’ in Industry Season 4 Explained

Industry Season 4 just kicked off, and U.S. President Donald Trump’s unexpected cameo during a short golfing scene has taken viewers by surprise. After watching the episode, many fans are left wondering whether the cameo is legit or if it’s someone else.

Here’s a breakdown of the scene.

Does Industry Season 4 actually feature a cameo from Donald Trump?

HBO’s Industry returned after a year-and-a-half-long break for Season 4. However, it’s the unexpected cameo of Donald Trump that has grabbed the most attention during the premiere.

The scene in question happens on a golf course, where Eric Tao is smoking a cigar as he waits for his two friends, Chuck and Hesh. His group and others around them are seemingly held up for some reason. The trio then raises their hands and waves at somebody in the distance, revealing that Donald Trump is playing golf across the course.

The twist is that the scene never zooms in on Trump for a definitive answer. Instead, the person’s demeanor suggests that it could be him. The man in the distance is wearing a red cap, a blue shirt, black trousers, and white shoes—an outfit that makes him look very similar to Trump.

Adding to the speculation, Chuck asks, “Has 47 ever allowed anyone to play through?” to which Hesh replies, “Not in this lifetime.” The number “47” could be a hint that it’s Trump, since he’s the 47th president.

Furthermore, comments from golfers off-camera also support the implication. One person remarks, “…whenever he ends up at the bunker, he shouts ‘fake news,’ and the ball disappears.” Another adds, “I heard he loves playing with Tiger Woods.”

Considering all these hints, it is reasonable to assume that the person in the distance is Donald Trump. However, it’s not the president himself, but rather it’s an actor portraying him.

The next episode of Industry Season 4 airs on Sunday, January 18, 2026, on HBO Max.
