Brooke and Ridge talk about Katie
In front of Brooke, Ridge regards Bill’s move to marry Katie as “desperate.” Carter then walks in and reveals that the new PR team is doing amazing work. Brooke questions Ridge about Katie’s future in the company. Ridge and Carter refuse to answer, revealing that they value Katie but can’t ignore the new firm’s outstanding proposals.
Steffy senses a change
Steffy is impressed by how well Taylor looks and asks her if she has decided to move on in life. They then discuss Ridge and Brooke and how she’s busy dealing with patients. Steffy asks her whether she’s seeing Deacon professionally. Subtly dodging the question, they discuss how change is possible. Steffy then talks about some changes in Hope’s line and how she wishes for Thomas to lead it.
Deacon acts suspiciously
Sheila reveals that she doesn’t blame Deacon for not inviting her to the wedding and understands that he wanted her there but couldn’t make it happen. She wonders if she may have crossed any boundaries and questions why he went to see Taylor. Deacon expresses his appreciation for Taylor, with Sheila joining in and talking about the positive impact Taylor has had on their lives. Sheila then asks Deacon not to keep anything from her. Deacon nods in agreement but remains deep in thought as he and Sheila embrace. Deacon reflects on Taylor’s words on how she wishes that Sheila were everything he needs and deserves. Meanwhile, Steffy urges her mother to open up for love.
Katie departs Forrester
Katie expresses her disappointment over Carter not consulting her before speaking to the outside PR firm. She also complains to Ridge about not keeping her posted about the company’s stuff. Ridge replies that they didn’t consult her as she was busy with family. Katie continues to be upset, with Ridge and Brooke rushing to a meeting. When they return, they learn that Katie is gone.
Bill offers support
Bill notices Katie as she returns from Forrester, standing by the window, lost in thought. She reflects on all her contributions to the company and tells Bill how much she values them. Bill says he’s aware of how she was mistreated there and knows she isn’t truly valued. He assures her of his support, no matter what she decides, but urges her to stop coming second to Brooke and Ridge. Katie agrees with his thoughts, but Bill reminds her that she’s no longer a Forrester when she begins to think about her sisters.
