Taika Waititi’s next TV show has been announced.
Waititi is known for directing two MCU entries, 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok and 2022’s Thor: Love and Thunder. He has been heavily involved in a number of popular television shows, including What We Do in the Shadows, Reservation Dogs, Our Flag Means Death, and Time Bandits, while his filmography further includes 2016’s Hunt for the Wilderpeople, 2019’s Jojo Rabbit, 2023’s Next Goal Wins, and more.

Per Deadline, Waititi has now closed a first-look deal with 20th Television, FX Productions, and Hulu. This allows him to “develop and direct original series for 20th Television and FX Productions targeting all linear networks and streamers with priority given to Disney Entertainment Television platforms, most notably FX and Hulu.”
Under this deal, Waititi and Jason Kim are now developing a new half-hour comedy series for Hulu titled Last Look.
“Last Look is a modern upstairs/downstairs comedy set in a luxury fashion house,” a description of the show reads. “It depicts the lives of the underdogs who work tirelessly to make the fashions come to life – and the fabulous monsters who design them.”
Waititi also has an FX pilot titled Very Young Frankenstein, which is based on Mel Brooks’ Young Frankenstein, in development for Hulu. That project is currently in post-production and stars Kumail Nanjiani, Zach Galifianakis, Dolly Wells, Spencer House, Nikki Crawford, and Cary Elwes. Waititi directs the pilot, which has reportedly received positive initial feedback.
Meanwhile, Waititi is also working on a new film titled Klara and the Sun. Based on a 2021 novel of the same name, the cast of that movie includes Jenna Ortega, Amy Adams, Natasha Lyonne, Steve Buscemi, Mia Tharia, Simon Baker, and more. A release date has not yet been announced by Sony Pictures.
