Ironheart is getting review bombed.
The first three episodes of Marvel Studios’ Ironheart were released on Disney+ last night. The show sees Dominique Thorne reprise her role as Riri Williams/Ironheart after she made her MCU debut in 2022’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
The cast of the show further includes Lyric Ross as Natalie Washington, Anthony Ramos as Parker Robbins/The Hood, Alden Ehrenreich as Ezekiel “Zeke” Stane, and more.
What do we know about Ironheart’s reviews?
Before it even premiered, Ironheart was review bombed, as the show had a 32 percent audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes, according to Collider. The site has now seemingly fixed the issue, as it currently holds a 70 percent audience score.
However, over on IMDB, the show was targeted just hours after it was released, as it now has a 4.7/10 score.
This is far from the first time that this has happened, as internet trolls with nothing better to do with their time often target shows, typically those that are part of larger franchises, that star people of color; 2024’s Star Wars: The Acolyte and 2022’s Ms. Marvel had to deal with similar bigotry.
The actual, real reviews for Ironheart have been relatively mixed. Many are praising the show’s performances (specifically Thorne’s) while others seem to think the show’s pacing is off and that it quickly runs out of steam. Jonathan Sim gave the show an 8/10 for ComingSoon and said it was “absolutely one of Marvel’s stronger attempts at tackling street-level superhero stories in streaming services,” while Matt Morrison gave it a 5/10 for SuperHeroHype and noted that the whole thing “falls flat.”
The first three episodes of Ironheart are currently available to stream on Disney+. The final three episodes will be released on July 1, 2025.
