Ginny & Georgia Season 3 has finally delivered a breathtaking and shocking ending, after weeks of fan anticipation over how Georgia’s legal mess would unfold. As a result, fans have started asking many questions about the ending and the way it played out. One of the primary questions on fans’ minds is, “Who exactly killed Tom Fuller, and why did Austin and Cynthia lie about it?

Helmed by Sarah Lampert, Ginny & Georgia follows the life of the titular protagonists, a mother-daughter duo who try to begin a new life in New England, free from past troubles, only to realize that it is not easy to run from the past.

Here’s who killed Tom Fuller in Ginny & Georgia Season 3’s ending

Tom Fuller was killed by Georgia. However, Austin, her son, who witnessed the act, lied in court that his abusive father, Gil Timmins, murdered him. Cynthia Fuller also took the stand and testified that Gil had killed Tom.

Fuller had been in a comatose state throughout Season 2. His condition eventually took a toll on Cynthia, who began wishing for Tom to pass away. Cynthia told Georgia that medical advisors had informed her during the previous Thanksgiving. They said Tom would succumb to his illness and pass away by the following Christmas. However, that time passed, and Tom continued to remain alive.

Georgia, sympathetic toward Cynthia’s plight, visited Tom’s room and smothered him with a pillow, while promising to look out for Cynthia and her son Zach.

Why did Austin and Cynthia lie about Tom Fuller’s murder?

Austin and Cynthia lied about the circumstances of Tom Fuller’s murder to protect Georgia after her arrest. Their lies stemmed from Ginny‘s manipulative tactics, born from a desire to protect Austin from Gil’s abuse.

Ginny was instrumental in convincing Cynthia to lie about Tom’s murder. She told Cynthia that the cameras at the Blue Farm Café could be used to prove she had cheated on Tom with Joe. That, in turn, would give Cynthia a motive to murder her husband. As a result, Cynthia ended up backing Austin’s claim that Gil murdered Tom Fuller.
