Tron: Ares Set Video Shows a New Look at Jared Leto

Tron: Ares Set Video Showcases Jared Leto in Costume

Now that production on Tron: Ares is currently underway, a new clip has been shared from the set showing Jared Leto in costume as Ares while filming around British Columbia.

The newly shared clip is not the actual footage during filming, though the actor can be seen clad in full costume, giving audiences a look at the character without his helmet.

Serving as a standalone sequel (following 1982’s Tron and 2010’s Tron: Legacy), the upcoming sci-fi film will feature a star-studded cast, including Evan Peters (American Horror Story), Gillian Anderson (Scoop), Jodie Turner-Smith (Anne Boleyn), Greta Lee (Past Lives), Hasan Minhaj (The Spy Who Dumped Me), Arturo Castro (Weird: The Al Yankovic Story), Cameron Monaghan (Shameless), and Sarah Desjardins (The Night Agent).

Leto, on the other hand, is set to portray the title role, a sentient program that transcends into the human realm. You can check out the BTS clip down below:

When is Tron: Ares coming out?

Tron: Ares will hit theaters on Friday, October 10, 2025. It will arrive nearly 15 years after Tron: Legacy hit theaters back in 2010. The upcoming movie is directed by Maleficent: Mistress of Evil filmmaker Joachim Rønning from a screenplay written by Jesse Wigutow and Jack Thorne.

In addition to starring in the lead role, Leto also served as the film’s producer alongside Emma Ludbrook and Jeffrey Springer. Russell Allen served as the executive producer.

The 1982 film starred Jeff Bridge as Kevin Flynn, a talented software engineer unwittingly transported into a virtual world where he had to fight against an evil command program. The film then spawned a sequel decades later, which saw the return of Bridges as Kevin.

Tron: Legacy also starred Garrett Hedlund as Samuel “Sam” Flynn, Olivia Wilde as Quorra, and Bruce Boxleitner as Alan Bradley, among others. The original movie is available to stream on Disney+.
