AEW President Tony Khan Reacts to CM Punk’s Remarks

In a recent interview with MMA Hour, WWE Superstar CM Punk delved into various topics, discussing his potential return to WWE and his experience in AEW. Punk did not hold back, expressing his views on AEW’s business model, suggesting it may not align with traditional norms. He also offered insights on Tony Khan, acknowledging his amiable nature but questioning his managerial style, which Punk believes could pose challenges for the promotion down the line.

Tony Khan, the owner of Ring of Honor, is promoting his upcoming show, ROH Superscard of Honor. During the media call for the show, Tony Khan was asked about CM Punk’s controversial opinion of him and AEW. He stated, “I’d prefer not to talk about that. I think I’d really rather focus on the card and Supercard of Honor, but thanks for asking.”

However, Khan is expected to dodge the question, as he is known for avoiding controversial topics. While CM Punk did not shy away from voicing his views on All Elite Wrestling, it’s crucial to highlight that he did not dwell solely on the criticisms.

Punk also recounted positive moments from his tenure in the promotion, highlighting the friendships forged and the chance to team up with Sting in a tag team match. Moreover, he expressed no regrets about his time there and wished contentment for everyone involved.

Jim Ross weighs in on CM Punk’s AEW comments, saying he’s tired of negative news

AEW commentator Jim Ross offered his take on CM Punk’s stance regarding the promotion. Speaking on Grilling JR, Ross delved into Punk’s remarks, highlighting Punk’s inclination towards accentuating the positives in his life and expressing fatigue with the constant influx of negativity.

He stated, “I saw a snippet of it. I didn’t see the whole thing. Again, my life, this has been a great weekend health-wise. That’s what I’m focusing on. I’m tired of all the negative news, all the bad news, and all the controversial stuff. It’s enough is enough. I think I mentioned to you, how much barbecue can a redneck eat? I’m tapping. Let’s move on, here. We got everybody’s point of view, we understand. No matter what anybody says in an interview, it’s not gonna solve the problems. It’s just, we’re gonna continue to wear that son of a bitch out.”

WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes has also weighed in on the topic, given his previous role as an EVP of the promotion. Rhodes offered a different perspective on Punk’s views.
