Boys Be Brave is an upcoming Korean BL (Boys Love) drama starring Nam Shi-An and Kim Sung-Hyun. Releasing on Heavenly, the network recently released the trailer of the rom-com drama.

Based on a popular webtoon of the same name, Boys Be Brave tells the story of friends Jung Ki-Sub (Nam Shi-An) and Kim Jin-Woo (Kim Sung-Hyun) who eventually fall in love. Ki-Sub unexpectedly moves in with Jin-Woo, who is reluctant to have him as his roommate. Things get complicated for Jin-Woo because he has a secret crush on his friend.

The latest trailer explores the friends-to-lovers storyline. The lead characters are college students but have different personalities. While Ki-Sub is popular among girls, Jin-Woo is polite and shy.

Boys Be Brave trailer focuses on the lead cast’s growing closeness

The K-drama Boys Be Brave trailer features a love-and-hate friendship between Jung Ki-Sub and Kim Jin-Woo. The latter is not happy with Ki-Sub moving into his apartment. When Ki-Sub asks if he could sleep with Jin-Woo, he yells at his friend. In response, Ki-Sub says, “You like me, though.”

In the first half of the trailer, Jin-Woo seems to run away from Ki-Sub. He avoids his true feelings towards his friend, while Ki-Sub doesn’t stop pursuing him. A text in the video reads, “The more I push [him away], the closer we become,” hinting at Jin-Woo’s feelings.

The trailer’s second half features the growing closeness between the lead cast. It ends with Ki-Sub narrating, “Kim Jin Woo. I won’t ever leave you alone.” Aside from these, the storyline includes a romance between two other couples — Choi Balg-Eum (Jung Yeo-Joon) and Ji In-Ho (Ahn Se-Min).

Boys Be Brave will premiere on Heavenly and Viki on Thursday, April 25, 2024.
