Doctor Slump Episode 16 ending explained: What happens at the end?

The latest Doctor Slump episode 16 began with a glimpse at Nam Ha-Neul’s family. Her brother, Nam Ba-Da, began to work earnestly towards making a living. While her mother, Gang Wol-Seon, proudly showed off Ha-Neul in front of the extended family. Meanwhile, Bin Dae-Young and Lee Hong-Ran began dating officially.

Ba-Da received his first paycheck from his uncle, Tae-Soon, and took Ha-Neul for dinner. She was extremely happy after witnessing her brother’s success. The following day, Jeong-Woo wondered if Ha-Neul had rejected his proposal, given that she hadn’t answered yet. Meanwhile, a nurse informed Dae-Young about a rather unusual patient.

Ha-Neul decided to answer to Jeong-Woo’s proposal and asked Jeong-Woo out on a date. While he waited for her answer during dinner, she informed him about her opportunity to go abroad for six months and work in another hospital. While Jeong-Woo advised her to pursue it, he still remained unsure of staying away from her for so long.

After Dae-Young talked about a nurse resigning to pursue her dream, Jeong-Woo realized he was being selfish. He advised Ha-Neul to take up the offer, and she agreed to the job abroad. However, the following day, she realized that a doctor who previously rejected the offer had taken it up again.

Before Ha-Neul could inform Jeong-Woo and her family, they’d already begun celebrating her next venture. Meanwhile, Jeong-Woo revealed that he knew about the issue after accidentally reading her message. Ha-Neul, however, said that, unlike before, she’d expressed her disappointment with the decision. She decided to be open and honest about her feelings.

Ha-Neul and Jeong-Woo spent quality time during their date. Ha-Neul also visited her psychiatrist, showing signs of improvement. She took the test again, after which the psychiatrist revealed that she didn’t have to come to the clinic anymore. Ha-Neul discovered that the concept of “getting better” is when we get the strength to overcome hurdles and misfortunes.

Other characters of the story also received their happy ending. Dae-Young and Hong-Ran began to spend time with each other and their respective children. Meanwhile, Ba-Da and his mother, Wol-Seon, bonded over his recent professionalism. Although he thought that his mother preferred Ha-Neul over him, Wol-Seon expressed that both her kids were individually doing well in their lives.

Meanwhile, Dae-Young advised Jeong-Woo to start his own clinic. Jeong-Woo did begin anew but with a smaller clinic. However, he was satisfied with this progress as he also had Ha-Neul’s support. Elsewhere, Tae-Soon also found his lost love. Jeong-Woo’s friends also continued to live a decent life. Jeong-Woo even asked Kang Jin-Suk to join his clinic, given the latter supported him by providing crucial evidence that helped his case.

By the end of the episode, Jeong-Woo and Ha-Neul finally visit the beach to see the sunrise. Ha-Neul agreed to the proposal even though they’d already started planning the wedding. The episode and the series ended with the couple’s wedding photoshoots, documenting a happy end to the beloved drama.
