The Impossible Heir episode 3: Lee Jae-Wook, Lee Jun-Young & Hong Su-Zu begin their game plan

The Impossible Heir episode 3 began with Kang In-Ha contemplating if he would be able to take control of the conglomerate Kang Oh Group. The scene cut to the present, where Chairman Kang Joong-Mo arrived at the Co Prosperity Cooperation Center. The director, Chae Dong-Uk, kept praising the chairman in front of the two heirs—Kang Seung-Jo and Kang In-Ju. Meanwhile, Joong-Mo discovered that Tae-Oh had written his speech.

Joong-Mo asked everyone to leave except Tae-Oh. He brought out Tae-Oh’s past, his father’s name, and fired Tae-Oh. But the latter expressed that the chairman would need his help in the future. Joong-Mo asked Tae-Oh to hide his true self while working with him. Joong-Mo then made a speech and asked all the members of the center to work hard to achieve the goal.

As the chairman left with his two sons, Tae-Oh told In-Ha that Chae Dong-Uk would be relieved from his position as the director. However, he assured In-Ha that Dong-Uk could be recycled for their use in the future. They realized that Seung-Ju would control the Center to gain control of Kang Oh Group. Later, Tae-Oh went to Joong-Mo, promising to work beside him, marking the beginning of their game plan.

The timeline shifted to five years later. Tae-Oh became the chairman’s close aide, which frustrated Seung-Jo and In-Ju. Amid the rivalry between the two brothers, In-Ha worked at the technology branch, while Na Hye-Won worked in the political campaign. Meanwhile, Seung-Ju collaborated with Jo Sun-Dong, trying to make the latter Hanmi Party’s leader. A mysterious hacker sent a video of the two at a shooting rink to Tae-Oh.

At night, Tae-Oh took the video to In-Ha and Hye-Won. The trio discussed Seung-Ju’s upcoming plan. Tae-Oh revealed that Jo Sun-Dong would be appointed as the Hanmi Party representative against the chairman’s intent, disrupting the attacks on the Royal Road Project. The three realized that Seung-Ju was using Sun-Dong to take over Kang Oh Cooperation. As suspected, Sun-Dong became the party leader, which only infuriated the chairman and worsened his health condition.

Hye-Won and Tae-Oh met at their hideout and discussed further plans. Hye-Won revealed that In-Ha asked her to marry him, but she wasn’t ready yet. The following day, she heard from the campaign manager that the employees were gathering for dinner. She planted an audio device in the room, which revealed that Seung-Ju was using Sun-Dong to control the National Assembly’s labor, education, land, infrastructure, and transport ministry.

They would use Kang Oh group’s finances to advance the Royal Road Project, eventually leading it to an economic breakdown. After Seung-Ju accused Joong-Mo of embezzlement and ousting the latter, they would separate the Co-Prosperity Cooperation Center from the conglomerate, turning the former into a holding company. As In-Ha and Hye-Won expressed concerns over Seung-Ju’s plans, Tae-Oh assured them it won’t come to fruition.

Later, Tae-Oh met with the hacker. The latter provided him with information about Save Africa, an organization run by Jang Noik Foundation. The organization laundered donations meant for refugees and transferred them into a Swiss bank account. Tae-Oh provided the information to Joong-Mo, who quickly realized Jang Geum-Suk and Kang Oh Art Foundation’s role behind the plan. The chairman further understood Seung-Ju’s true motives.

After Sun-Dong’s election victory, Seung-Ju offered a legal company to the chairman’s right hand, Chu Hyeok-Jin. The hacker tracked Seung-Ju’s phone and informed Tae-Oh of the new development. Tae-Oh then went to the chairman with the information. Previously, Joong-Mo had named Hyeon-Jin as the Milton law firm’s owner. However, Tae-Oh discovered that the chairman was the original owner. After Joong-Mo learned about Hyeok-Jin’s betrayal, he called the latter and fellow firm employees.

Meanwhile, In-Ha proposed to Hye-Won again, and she accepted it this time, given that In-Ha would soon take control of the conglomerate. On the other hand, Joong-Mo asked the Milton law firm employees to eliminate legal issues that could arise from reassigning the Cooperation Center. Tae-Oh confiscated everyone’s phones so that Hyeok-Jin couldn’t inform Seung-Ju of the chairman’s plans.

The following day, Joong-Mo called for an emergency meeting. He handed over Kang Oh securities to Seung-Ju and took over the center under his leadership, giving former director Chae Dong-Uk his position back. While this left Seung-Ju infuriated, Tae-Oh rejoiced in his successful game plan. However, the following day, a raid at the conglomerate group left Joong-Mo collapsing on the floor. He suspected it to be Geum-Suk who left him lying on the ground. In the end, Tae-Oh arrived and saw Joong-Mo gasping for air.
