The Heirs is one of the most popular and iconic K-dramas, and loyal fans still talk about it quite fondly. The series premiered on October 9, 2013, and follows a group of high school students who are groomed to become heirs of the chaebol family and take over the family business. As they interact with a few other students who aren’t as well-to-do, drama, romance, and tension ensue between the haves and the have-nots.

Until now, The Heirs boasts a star-studded cast list. These include Lee Min-Ho, Park Shin-Hye, Kim Ji-Won, Park Hyung-Sik, Kim Woo-Bin, and several others. After over a decade of the drama’s premiere, The Heirs cast has gone on to achieve more success and stardom in other popular works.

Lee Min-Ho

Lee Min-Ho essayed the role of Kim Tan in The Heirs. He is the heir to Empire Group, a family conglomerate, but struggles under the shadow of his successful brother. He falls in love with the family housekeeper’s daughter, Cha Eun-Sang (Park Shin-Hye).

After his role in The Heirs, the actor went on to play memorable roles in many popular works, including The Legend of the Blue Sea and The King: Eternal Monarch. Most recently, he modeled for brands like Fendi, Harper’s Bazaar, and others. Meanwhile, the actor will be appearing in Pachinko season 2 and When the Stars Gossip potentially this year.

Park Shin-Hye

Park Shin-Hye played Lee Min-Ho’s love interest, Cha Eun-Sang, in The Heirs. The conglomerate employs her mother as the family housekeeper, where she gets entangled with Kim Tan (Lee Min-Ho).

Following her appearance in the drama, she became part of many other popular series like Pinocchio, The Doctors, Memories of Alhambra, and more. The actress married fellow actor Choi Tae-Joon in 2022 and gave birth to a son later that year. She recently appeared in the hit 2023 K-drama Doctor Slump alongside The Heirs co-star Park Hyung-Sik.

Kim Ji-Won

Kim Ji-Won plays the role of the prideful and wealthy Rachel Yoo, a hotel heiress who was betrothed to Kim Tan (Lee Min-Ho). Her role earned her the New Star Award at the 2013 SBS Awards. 

This was only the beginning of her career as she went on to win multiple awards for her roles in Fight For My Way and Descendants of the Sun. She has also played memorable roles in Arthdal Chronicles, My Liberation Notes, and more. Furthermore, Kim Ji-Won recently appeared on the highly popular tvN K-drama Queen of Tears.

Kim Woo-Bin

Kim Woo-Bin played the second lead in The Heirs. He essayed the role of Choi Young-Do, who also fell in love with Cha Eun-Sung (Park Shin-Hye). Following his stint on The Heirs, the actor went on to become well-known for his roles in dramas like Uncontrollably Fond and We Are Young.

In 2017, he went on a break after being diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer. After completing his treatment, he appeared in the hit 2022 movie Alienoid and the drama Our Blues. More recently, he appeared on the 2023 variety show GBRB: Reap What You Sow.

Park Hyung-Sik

Park Hyung-Sik played the role of Jo Myung-Soo in The Heirs. Myung-Soo is the son of the largest law firm CEO and is best friends with Choi Young-Do (Kim Woo-Bin) and Lee Bo-Na (Krystal Jung).

After his stint in this drama, Park Hyung-Sik landed his lead role in the hit 2017 K-drama Strong Woman Do Bong Soon. Since then, the actor has made memorable appearances in dramas like Our Blooming Youth, Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth, and Happiness, among others. Meanwhile, he recently reunited with his The Heirs co-star Park Shin-Hye for the hit K-drama Doctor Slump.
