C-Drama Growing Pains of Swordsmen Announces Release Date on Tencent Video

The upcoming C-drama Growing Pains of Swordsmen will premiere six years after it finished filming. The drama is all set to meet viewers on March 7, 2024. It features popular actors Bai Ke, Eric Leyang, Lan Yingying, and Sean Sun in the main roles. This much-anticipated series which finished filming in 2018 is an adaptation of the novel “Happy Heroes” by Gu Long. The story takes place in a world of martial arts specialists. It belongs to the genres of wuxia and comedy.

Growing Pains of Swordsmen is a coming-of-age drama that revolves around Guo Da Lu (Bai Ke), Lin Tai Ping (Eric Leyang), Yan Qi (Lan Yingying), Wang Dong (Sean Sun), four novice swordsmen who accidentally cross paths after they arrive for training in Gui Shan Zhuang in Jiangshu. As they train side by side, they develop a bond. They have unique abilities and attributes. Together, these four swordsmen embark on a journey full of comedic encounters and adventures.

These swordsmen work hand in hand for the greater good of the residents of the kingdom. Will they be able to rise above all the difficulties that come their way and prove their worth as martial arts heroes?

Other than the lead actors, Growing Pains of Swordsmen also features Jia Bing, Liu Yajin, An Dong, Wang Lina, Ying Yu Chen, Wang Wen, Chen Huafeng, Chen Yang etc. in pivotal roles. Shang Jing is the director and screenwriter for the anticipated drama.

The drama was originally scheduled to release a total of 51 episodes. However, as per the new rule by the Chinese Government, Chinese Entertainment Houses can release no more than 40 episodes in a single season of a C-drama. Viewers are eager to see how this will play out.
