In Queen of Divorce episode 8, Dong Gi-Jun (Kang Ki-Young) and Kim Sa-Ra (Lee Ji-Ah) arrive at the latter’s apartment to pack her things. While doing so, he finds a tiny statue that connects to their past when they used to date.

Gi-Jun mentions that even he has not thrown away his statue, not because he is lazy, but because he doesn’t want to get rid of Sa-Ra. Then, as he holds her hand, she recalls her son’s concern, who was made to believe she left him for another man. She lets go of Gi-Jun’s hand and says, “What do you think happened to the two who got back together after nine years?” Here, she refers to a romantic movie they were supposed to watch in the hospital.

She adds, “They both must have returned to their own places. Nine years ago, their hearts were burning. But now, they’re at an age where their minds are burning.” Gi-Jun holds her hand and puts it on his chest, confessing, “My heart, which has met Kim Sa-Ra once again, is still burning. Nothing can stop it. When you’re able to free your mind, come back whenever you want.” Kang Ki-Young’s character mentions that he will wait for her.

Apart from their heart-fluttering moments, episode 8 also features Noh Yul-Sung (Oh Min-Suk) playing dirty politics against party representative Kim Young A. He joins forces with her opponent and claims that she has joined a cult with her husband. While she receives backlash from the public, Sa-Ra helps her fight her personal battle.

Sa-Ra, Gi-Jun, and the Solution team members expose cult leader Pastor Cheon’s true face. Due to him, Young A’s husband had earlier put his children in danger. Hence, Young A was reluctant to divorce him as she wouldn’t get custody because she was not their biological mother. Thanks to the Solution team, they find a way to help the party representative and also indirectly foil Yul-Sung’s plan.
