A Killer Paradox is an upcoming Netflix K-drama starring Choi Woo-Shik and Son Suk-Ku. The crime thriller series revolves around a college student who goes on a killing spree after accidentally ending someone’s life.

Our Beloved Summer actor plays the role of Lee Tang, a regular university student who works at a departmental store. One day, he gets involved in a fight with a drunk man and ends up taking his life by mistake. He gets terrified, thinking his actions could ruin his life. It appears the deceased is a serial killer wanted for four years by the police.

Lee Tang realizes he has a special ability to recognize bad people. So, he believes he should eradicate such human beings. This is when Detective Jang Nan-Gam (Son Suk-Ku) enters the picture and begins to chase Lee Tang.

Based on the webtoon of the same name by Kkomabi, A Killer Paradox is a crime thriller K-drama on Netflix. The lead actors of the upcoming series include Choi Woo-Sik, Son Suk-Ku, and Lee Hee-Jun. The series is directed and written by Lee Chang-Hee and Kim Da-Min, respectively.

Choi Woo-Shik essays the role of Lee Tang, a college student who works at a small departmental store. After a fight with a drunk man, his world turns upside down as he accidentally kills the man. While thinking he may have ruined his own life, Lee Tang learns that the dead man was a serial killer and was on the police’s wanted list for four years. He realizes he has the ability to discover evil people. This is how he goes on a killing spree. However, whether or not he is a “Godsent Hero” or a “Unpunished Sinner,” only time will reveal that.

From romance to thriller and suspense, Woo-Shik is a versatile actor who has worked in a variety of genres. Some of his notable works include the Oscar-winning film Parasite, Our Beloved Summer, The Witch, and many more.

The K-drama also stars Son Suk-Ku, who will take the role of detective Jang Nan-Gam. While investigating a murder case, he believes Lee Tang is the killer linked to all other murders happening in town. He is known for his roles in drama series, such as Big Bet, D.P. (both seasons), My Liberation Notes, and Jirisan.

Lee Hee-Jun plays Song Chon, a former detective. His instincts bring him to Lee Tang, and he chases him alone. The actor has appeared in many movies and series like Vincenzo, Behind Every Star, Marriage Blue, and many more. Aside from the lead actors, the cast of A Killer Paradox also includes Hyun Bong-Sik, Kim Yo-Han, Lee Jae-Woong, and Jean Hyun-Sook.

A Killer Paradox release date & synopsis

A Killer Paradox on Netflix will premiere on Friday, February 9, 2024. It consists of eight episodes, and the streaming platform may release them all at once. The official synopsis of the upcoming K-drama reads, “When one accidental killing leads to another, an ordinary young man finds himself stuck in an endless cat-and-mouse chase with a shrewd detective.”

Speaking about his role at a press conference, Choi Woo-Shik said, “I really enjoyed the webtoon and felt a desire to do this, to work this character out as an actor. I also had the confidence that I could do it well, so I threw myself in [to the project].” 

He added, “The character didn’t commit murder willingly at first. But as the character grows, he eventually starts to intentionally find villains on his own. He goes through an emotional and psychological transformation. So I focused my acting on those aspects, and I hope viewers can also grasp those changes.”
