What is Woody Woodpecker Goes to Camp about?

“After getting kicked out of the forest, Woody thinks he’s found a forever home at Camp Woo Hoo — until an inspector threatens to shut down the camp,” the synopsis reads.

Woody Woodpecker Goes to Camp is directed by Jon Rosenbaum. The screenplay was written by Cory Edwards, Jim Martin, and Stephen Mazur, based on a story by Mazuer and Edwards. Jon Kuyper serves as producer.

The film, which comes from Universal 1440 Entertainment, features Eric Bauza as the voice of Woody Woodpecker.

Woody Woodpecker debuted in a 1940 animated short called Knock Knock. After starring in a number of other animated shorts, the character got his own television series, The Woody Woodpecker Show, in 1957.

Since then, Woody Woodpecker has been featured in a number of other cartoon series and shorts, including The New Woody Woodpecker Show, the YouTube Woody Woodpecker web series, and more. He also cameoed in 1988’s Who Framed Roger Rabbit, among other appearances.

In 2017, Alex Zamm directed a live-action CGI hybrid Woody Woodpecker movie starring Bauza, Graham Verchere, Timothy Omundson, Jordana Largy, and Thaila Ayala. While released theatrically in Latin America, the movie debuted as a direct-to-video feature in the United States. It is currently available to rent or purchase on streaming platforms such as Apple TV, Amazon, DirectTV, and more.
