Earlier this month, Lionsgate announced that The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare, which will also star Eiza González, Alan Ritchson, Alex Pettyfer, and Hero Fiennes Tiffin, will be having its wide release on April 19.

Directed by Ritchie, based on a script he co-wrote with Paul Tamasy, Eric Johnson, and Arash Amel, other stars joining the film include Babs Olusamokun, Henrique Zaga, Til Schweiger, Henry Golding, and Cary Elwes.

What is The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare about?

Billed as a true story about a secret special forces organization during World War II, the action comedy will center on a combat unit as they go on a daring mission to fight against the Nazis. But with such a dangerous mission come equally dangerous strategies. The team, however, only has atypical and rather “ungentlemanly” battling methods.

“This clandestine squad’s unconventional and entirely ‘ungentlemanly’ fighting techniques against the Nazis significantly changed the course of the war and gave birth to the modern Black Ops unit,” the synopsis reads.

The film is based on Damien Lewis’s novel The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare: How Churchill’s Secret Warriors Set Europe Ablaze and Gave Birth to Modern Black Ops. The film’s producers include Ritchie, Jerry Bruckheimer, Chad Oman, Ivan Atkinson, and John Friedberg.
