Will There Be a Magic Mike 4 Release Date & Is It Coming Out?

The Magic Mike films are a unique group of cinema that explores the male exotic dancing industry through the perspective of the eponymous character, Michael “Magic Mike” Lane, who is already an experienced performer at the start of the first film.

Magic Mike premiered in 2012, Magic Mike XXL in 2015, and Magic Mike’s Last Dance in 2023. If you are wondering whether there will be a fourth Magic Mike film, this is what we have discovered.

Here’s all we know about Magic Mike 4 and whether or not it’s coming out.

Is there a Magic Mike 4 release date?

There is no Magic Mike 4 release date as the film trilogy seems to have concluded with Magic Mike’s Last Dance.

As of December 2023, there is no news about the development of Magic Mike 4, and it’s likely to remain so as both Steven Soderbergh, the director of the first and third films, and Channing Tatum, who portrays the eponymous character, doesn’t have to any plans to revisit the character. The third film also gives Mike a fitting farewell. However, Soderbergh did mention to Variety that he had plans to expand the Magic Mike franchise. “I think there are other things to be done within what I consider now to be a larger Magic Mike universe,” the acclaimed filmmaker said.

Soderbergh echoed the same sentiment in a January 2023 interview with Total Film, underscoring the possibility of spin-offs. “Right now, this film feels like an end to the Magic Mike series,” he said. “I think Channing [Tatum] would probably agree. I don’t know where Mike would go from here. That being said, the avenues that I think have been opened up conceptually and philosophically still leave room to make a movie that exists in the Magic Mike universe. Like, how about a woman who lives in the suburbs, who’s inspired by the movies to try and open up her own club – a dance club, a cabaret – in suburban Atlanta? What would that be like? I think there are satellite parallel universes to open up there.”

As for Tatum, who starred and produced all three films, said in no uncertain terms in a May 2023 interview with People that he had no plans to reprise the role. “I am done. We did it all,” the actor said. “We chewed all the meat off the bone on that one. There’s nothing left to do.” However, he did humorously add later that he would only return for Grumpy Old Strippers, referring to a prospective film set in the golden years of Mike’s life.
