Warrior Nun Creator Clarifies Involvement in Upcoming Movie Trilogy

More than a month since it was officially announced that the cancelled Netflix series Warrior Nun will be coming back as a movie trilogy, series creator Simon Barry took to X, formerly Twitter, to clarify his involvement in the highly-anticipated project.

Barry revealed that he is currently not part of the creative team of the Warrior Nun movie trilogy despite being one of the active supporters who rallied fans on social media to continue their fan campaign in saving the action fantasy series from its cancellation. Further details about the Warrior Nun movies’ plot and potential returning characters have not yet been revealed.

Who was the cast of Netflix’s Warrior Nun?

Warrior Nun starred Alba Baptista as Ava, Toya Turner as Shotgun Mary, Lorena Andrea as Sister Lilith, Kristina Tonteri-Young as Sister Beatrice, Olivia Delcán as Sister Camila, Tristan Ulloa as Father Vincent, Sylvia De Fanti as Mother Superion, Thekla Reuten as Jillian Salvius, Emilio Sakraya as JC, Joaquim de Almeida as Cardina Duretti, and Lope Haydn Evans as Michael. It’s currently unclear if all of them would be returning for the trilogy.

Based on Ben Dunn’s manga-style graphic novel series of the same name, the Warrior Nun series is created by Barry, who also served as writer, showrunner, and executive producer.
