The End We Start From Teaser Trailer: Jodie Comer Leads Apocalyptic Drama

The teaser trailer for the upcoming film adaptation of Megan Hunter’s novel The End We Start From has been released. The film had its world premiere at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival. According to Deadline, the apocalyptic drama is scheduled to arrive in U.S. theaters on December 8.

The video introduces Jodie Comer as a mother to a newborn child. While trying to keep her child safe, she must navigate her way home amid an environmental crisis that led London to be submerged in flood waters.

What to expect in The End We Start From?

“Forced out of London by cataclysmic flooding, a new mother (Jodie Comer) her partner (Joel Fry), and their infant make their way to his parents’ home in the countryside, only to find the situation growing increasingly desperate there, as well,” reads the synopsis.

Described as a cautionary tale, The End We Start From is directed by Mahalia Bello from a screenplay by Alice Birch (Succession). Joining the Killing Eve alum are Benedict Cumberbatch, Joel Fry, Katherine Waterston, Gina McKee, Nina Sosanya, and Mark Strong. Cumberbatch is also serving as an executive producer along with Comer and Strong.

It is produced by Leah Clarke, Adam Ackland, Liza Marshall, Sophie Hunter, and Amy Jackson. Executive producers are Eva Yates, Claudia Yusef, Sébastien Raybaud, Pieter Engels, Fani Ntavelou, Kate Maxwell, David Caplan, Jason Cloth, and Lizze Francke.
