The Wheel of Time Season 2 Trailer Previews Action-Packed Next Installment

Amazon Studios has finally released The Wheel of Time Season 2 trailer for the highly-anticipated next installment to the fantasy drama adaptation of Robert Jordan’s popular novel series. It is scheduled to make its return on September 1 on Prime Video.

The video highlights the aftermath of the Season 1 finale, which featured Moiraine and Rand failing to defeat the Dark One. Because of this, an enemy breaks free. The last battle also saw Moiraine mysteriously losing her connection from the One Power. The trailer gives fans a preview of how she’ll deal with it while trying to protect and guide the Dragon Reborn for his destined battle against the Dark One.

Who’s in The Wheel of Time Season 2?

The Wheel of Time Season 2 features an ensemble cast led by Rosamund Pike, Daniel Henney, Sophie Okonedo, Kae Alexander, Madeleine Madden, Zoë Robins, Michael McElhatton, Barney Harris, Marcus Rutherford, Josha Stradowski, Priyanka Bose, Taylor Napier, Emmanuel Imani, and more. The next installment will also introduced new cast members in the form of Ragga Ragnars, Jay Duffy, Maja Simonsen, and Rima Te Wiata.

“In the series, a humble farm boy, Rand al’Thor learns he is The Dragon Reborn—a dangerous figure from history destined to save the world … or break it. Desperate to protect him from the Dark One, an army of powerful sorceresses must reckon with his burgeoning power and encroaching madness,” reads the synopsis. “The Wheel of Time turns, and the Last Battle approaches. Though Rand thought he destroyed the Dark One, evil is not gone from the world. In Season Two, threats new and very old seek out the young friends from the Two Rivers, now scattered over the world. The woman who found and guided them is now powerless to help, and so they must find other sources of strength. In each other, or themselves. In the Light … or the Dark.”

The Wheel of Time is developed and executive produced by Rafe Judkins, who also serves as the showrunner. It is also produced by Pike, with Harriet McDougal and Brandon Sanderson as consulting producers. The fantasy series is a production by Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television.
