Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey Gets International Release, New Poster

Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey Gets New Poster & International Release

The slasher horror film Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey will receive an international release to go along with its U.S. launch next year.

The film, which is set to receive a one-day theatrical release in the United States on February 15, 2023, will also see itself made available in theaters in the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Dutch Antilles on the same date.

Currently, there’s no word on whether or not other countries will be included in this list, but with the film starting to get more and more buzz ahead of its release, it wouldn’t be shocking to see more theaters deciding to show it.

The slasher film is written and directed by Rhys Frake-Waterfield and is led by Craig David Dowsett as Pooh Bear, Chris Cordell as Piglet, and Nikolai Leo as Christopher Robin. Additional cast includes Natasha Tosini, Amber Doig-Thorne, Maria Taylor, Jase Rivers, Simon Ellis, May Kelly, Natasha Rose Mills, Richard D. Myers, and more.

Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey became notorious earlier this year for its outlandish usage of the iconic A.A. Milne and E.H. Shephard characters following their copyright expiration in 2021. The film centers around Christopher Robin going off to college, causing Winnie the Pooh and Piglet to become “feral and unhinged,” which leads to the characters going on a murderous rampage.

Originally created by author A.A. Milne and illustrator E.H. Shephard, Winnie the Pooh recently saw its copyright expire, with the rights to the characters no longer being held by Disney and entering the public domain.
