The Unforgivable Trailer: Sandra Bullock & Viola Davis Star in Netflix Drama

Netflix has dropped the official trailer for the upcoming drama film titled The Unforgivable, based on Sally Wainwright’s 2009 British miniseries Unforgiven. Starring Oscar winners Sandra Bullock and Viola Davis, the film is scheduled to arrive in select theaters on November 24, followed by its streaming debut on December 10.

The Unforgivable trailer, which you can check out below along with the key art poster, begins with Bullock’s Ruth, who after finally completing her 20-year prison sentence, tries to find out the whereabouts of her younger sister. The video also highlights how it won’t be easy for her to rebuild her life.

The Unforgivable stars Sandra Bullock (The Blind Side), Vincent D’Onofrio (Daredevil), Jon Bernthal (The Punisher), Richard Thomas (The Waltons), Linda Emond (Lodge 49), Aisling Franciosi (The Nightingale), Rob Morgan (Mudbound), Emma Nelson, Will Pullen, Thomas Guiry and Viola Davis (Fences).

“Released from prison after serving a sentence for a violent crime, Ruth Slater (Bullock) re-enters a society that refuses to forgive her past,” reads the synopsis. “Facing severe judgment from the place she once called home, her only hope for redemption is finding the estranged younger sister she was forced to leave behind.”

The Unforgivable is directed by German filmmaker Nora Fingscheidt from a screenplay written by Peter Craig, Hillary Seitz, and Courtenay Miles. It is produced by Bullock, Graham King, and Veronica Ferres.
