In a tweet sent out on the official Teen Wolf Twitter account, tons of tweets of fans asking for more Teen Wolf content were shown, before a brief shot of a jeep and a wolf were shown. The movie will come from creator Jeff Davis, who has recently signed a new overall deal series with MTV Entertainment Studios, according to a report from Variety.

Alongside the news of a Teen Wolf movie, MTV also announced that Jeff Davis will develop a new series based on the Wolf Pack books by Edo Van Belkom. According to Variety’s report on the deal, the Teen Wolf film will follow the story of a “terrifying evil” emerging out of the town of Beacon Hills, with Scott McCall looking to gather both new allies and old friends alike in the ultimate fight.

It’s currently unclear if the entire original cast would be returning to the film, but actor Tyler Posey has recently been very open to returning to the series, and it seems like now he’ll be able to do just that.

Loosely based on the 1985 Michael J. Fox-led coming-of-age film, Teen Wolf followed the story of a social outcast high-school student named Scott McCall (Posey), who was suddenly bitten by a werewolf the night before sophomore year. The series ran on-air for six seasons from 2011-2017.
