Exclusive Trailer: Sean Astin Stars in Video Game Comedy Hero Mode

ComingSoon.net is excited to debut the Hero Mode trailer, which is a family comedy based around game development. It sees a struggling indie game studio turn its luck around after the owner puts her teenage son, who happens to be a coding prodigy, in charge of development. However, the existing employees, including one played by Sean Astin, aren’t pleased about this change.

Blue Fox Entertainment is releasing Hero Mode in theaters on June 4, 2021. It’s directed by A.J. Tesler, who is also a producer on the film. Other producers include Marcy Carpenter and E.J. Kavounas, while Jeff Carpenter serves as executive producer.

With her indie video game business on the brink of bankruptcy, Kate (Mira Sorvino) throws a Hail Mary and puts Troy (Chris Carpenter), her teenage coding genius son, in charge of creating a video game to save the company. It’s a dream come true for Troy, but quite the opposite for the company’s disgruntled coders (Sean Astin, Mary Lynn Rajksub, Kimia Behpoornia) and their rival CEO (Nelson Franklin).

The film stars Chris Carpenter, Mira Sorvino, Sean Astin, Indiana Massara, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Kimia Behpoornia, Phillip Solomon, Monte Markham, Creed Bratton, Jim O’Heir, Nelson Franklin, Erik Griffin, Al Madrigal, and Bobby Lee.
