BritBox Unveils What’s Coming to the Streamer in August 2020

BritBox, the subscription streaming service from BBC Studios and ITV offering the biggest collection of streaming British television in North America, has unveiled its August slate! Next month, BritBox will exclusively premiere the new BritBox Original crime drama Wild Bill starring Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Rob Lowe (The Grinder, The West Wing) with Rachael Stirling (The Bletchley Circle: San Francisco, Tipping the Velvet) and Bronwyn James (Outlander, Call The Midwife).

In addition to the hit panel show QI with Alan Davies (Jonathan Creek, Damned) and Sandi Toksvig (The Great British Bake-off), BritBox will debut BAFTA-winning original co-production There She Goes Season 2 with David Tennant (Doctor Who) and will become the exclusive home of the anthology drama Moving On, premiering Seasons 8 and 9 in North America.

Wild Bill Season 1 (BritBox Original U.S. Premiere)

Six-time Golden Globe nominee Rob Lowe (The West Wing, Parks and Recreation) stars as high-flying U.S. cop Bill Hixon who after losing his job in the States arrives in the UK with his teenage daughter to shake up the East Lincolnshire Police Force – and his own life in the process – in this sharp-witted original take on the police procedural. This series also stars Rachael Stirling (The Bletchley Circle: San Francisco, Tipping the Velvet) and Bronwyn James (Outlander, Call The Midwife).

Moving On Seasons 1-9 (Exclusive, North American Premiere S8 & 9)

Created by Emmy and BAFTA winner Jimmy McGovern (Cracker, Broken), this series of stand-alone contemporary dramas set in Britain follow characters experiencing some form of change in their lives. The series explores complex issues from addiction and infidelity, to depression and financial struggles; the life of a soldier’s wife, to the pain of a loved one lost. Lies that should never have been spoken to truths that are hard to hear – all linked by a common theme of characters who reach a turning point in life… and then move on. There She Goes Season 2 (BritBox Original Co-Production, North American Premiere)

Starring BAFTA winners David Tennant (Doctor Who, Broadchurch) and Jessica Hynes (Spaced) this dramedy shines a light on the everyday struggles and triumphs of a family looking after their severely learning disabled nine-year-old girl, Rosie. The stories, characters, and situations in the series are drawn from the real-life experiences of creator and producers Shaun Pye and his wife Sarah Crawford, whose daughter was born with a rare undiagnosed chromosomal disorder.

Two leading British criminal barristers re-investigate historical murder cases in this return of the award-winning and engaging true-crime series. Barristers Jeremy and Sasha revisit some of the cases they investigated previously and catch up with the family members about developments since the original programs aired.
