True Blood Star Jim Parrack Joins Fox’s 9-1-1: Lone Star

The Wrap is reporting that True Blood alum Jim Parrack has has been cast alongside Rob Lowe and Liv Tyler in FOX’s upcoming spinoff series 9-1-1: Lone Star. The actor will play Judd Ryder, a Texas firefighter whose life is marred by tragedy.

Set in Austin, TX, the 9-1-1 spinoff follows a sophisticated New York firefighter (Lowe) who, along with his son, re-locates to Austin, and must try to balance saving those who are at their most vulnerable with solving the problems in his own life.

Parrack portrayed Hoyt on HBO’s True Blood from 2008-2014, but has since played prominent roles in films such as Fury and Suicide Squad. He was also seen in the TV series The Deuce, and the TV mini-series Escape at Dannemora.

9-1-1: Lone Star is created and executive produced by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear, with 20th Century Fox Television also set to produce. Lowe will also serve as co-executive producer. The spinoff series will premiere on January 19, 2020.
