Here And Now Will Not Return For Season Two

Here And Now will not return for season two

The HBO drama Here and Now, created by Alan Ball, has been axed by the network following one season, according to Deadline.

The series, which debuted in February and ran for 10 episodes, followed a multi-ethnic family as they struggled with various contemporary issues including mental illness, sexual identity and race while also struggling with each other. The series stars Tim Robbins (The Shawshank Redemption), Holly Hunter (The Big Sick), Jerrika Hinton (Grey’s Anatomy) and Daniel Zovatto (Don’t Breathe).

This marked the third time that Ball worked with the network for a series after creating Six Feet Under and True Blood, but unlike those series, Here and Now was not a ratings hit, nor did it earn nearly as much critical acclaim.

The network will not be without programs, however, as Westworld has returned for its second season, which has received critical acclaim and debuted to a strong return in its premiere, as well as the return of hits True DetectiveBig Little Lies and The Deuce, in addition to new shows Succession and Sharp Objects.
