Three Clips from The Guest Should Get Your Attention

One of my favorite films of this fall so far is The Guest, the new film from Adam Wingard and Simon Barratt – the duo that brought you You’re Next. Fun story, great performances, cool score. A bit of action, a bit of horror and a bit of mayhem…

Picturehouse brings the film to select theaters on September 17th and we’ve got three clips for you here.

The film stars Dan Stevens, Maika Monroe, Leland Orser, Lance Reddick, Chase Williamson and Brendan Meyer.

Check Out the UK Trailer, Poster for The Guest

Last night, I had a chance to see Adam Wingard’s The Guest and you’re in for a treat when the film opens September 17th. Following last week’s new domestic trailer, the new international trailer and quad poster for the film has been released as well.

In the thriller, a soldier (Dan Stevens) introduces himself to the Peterson family, claiming to be a friend of their son who died in action. After the young man is welcomed into their home, a series of accidental deaths seem to be connected to his presence.

TIFF Announces Its 2014 Midnight Madness, Vanguard Slates

The Midnight Madness and Vanguard slates at the Toronto International Film Festival were revealed this morning and they feature quite a crop of promising films. Per the official site, this program offers “The wild side: midnight screenings of the best in action, horror, shock and fantasy cinema.”
Kevin Smith’s Tusk leads the pack. The film stars Justin Long and Michael Parks and concerns a podcast who meets an eccentric old man who intends to turn him into a walrus. We spoke to Smith about the film at Comic-Con – read that interview here.

[Trailer] You’re Next Team Returns With The Guest

Get some good, strong, sinister vibes from the trailer for The Guest, starring Maika Monroe, Brendan Meyer, Sheila Kelley, Leland Orser and Lance Reddick. This is the latest film from director Adam Wingard and writer Simon Barrett, the duo who brought us You’re Next last year. Here, they’re presenting a fringe genre film that I’ve heard has some horror elements – I guess, you could say, in some ways like You’re Next which balanced action with horror tropes.

Picturehouse is handling the release this September. Check out the trailer here which has a nice little Easter Egg for you Halloween III: Season of the Witch fans out there.
