Anchor Bay Entertainment is bringing The Atticus Institute to DVD and Blu-ray on January 20th.
The film marks the directorial debut of Chris Sparling, who scripted Buried.
The film stars Rya Khilstedt, William Mapother, Harry Groener, John Rubenstein and Sharon Maughn.

Two updates from Scream Factory. We’ll talk about the new acquisition first… The company has picked up Takashi Miike’s Over Your Dead Body for a 2015 release. The film made its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this year.
From that fest’s program: A star, Miyuki Goto (Ko Shibasaki) plays Oiwa, the protagonist in a new play based on the ghost story Yotsuya Kaidan.

Zombieworld Gets a Trailer & Release Date

Image Entertainment invites you Zombieworld (no relation to the Dark Horse Comics anthology horror title of the same name) which hits DVD on February 24th. Today, we have the cover art and trailer to share.
Zombieworld is a horror anthology focusing on survivors across the world as they struggle to overcome horrifying circumstances when a pandemic brings forth a zombie apocalypse.

Fantasm, the Horror Convention Documentary, Comes to DVD

Horror convention documentary Fantasm will be released on DVD on November 11th. It’s currently available for pre-order at a discounted price via fantasm.storenvy.com.
In addition to the feature-length documentary, this limited edition DVD includes the original student film, extended interviews, bloopers, “Dinner at the Kuchta’s,” trailers and the Kickstarter video.

I’ll be curious to see how deep this doc goes into the world of the horror convention scene. Does it reveal the nuts and bolts of putting one on?

VOD & DVD Art for Axelle Carolyn’s Soulmate

What you’re looking at isn’t artwork for a lenticular 3D DVD package or anything of the sort. These are two separate pieces of art that were created for Soulmate, Axelle Carolyn’s directorial feature debut. One is for the VOD release (top), the other is for the DVD release (bottom). The film hits on October 31st.

It gives you a little industry insight as to how film marketing works. Obviously the distributor felt one was better for one mark and the other was best-suited for another.

Clip, Poster & Canadian Distribution Details for The Door

Black Fawn Distribution has snatched up the Canadian home video rights to the indie horror film The Door, the film by Patrick McBrearty Shock first told you about (with a teaser trailer) back in August. Today, we have release date details along with a clip.

From Switchblade Studios and Good Soldier Films, The Door will be released on DVD in Canada on October 28th. Juice Worldwide will release the film through iTunes and other digital platforms on October 14th.
