Nice Guys TV Spot Features a Detective Agency Phone Number

In a fun new bit of interactive marketing, Warner Bros. Pictures has revealed a new The Nice Guys TV spot featuring a phone number for the fictional detective agency run by Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe in the film. Check out the new Nice Guys TV spot below, along with more info on how you can leave a message for them!

The number in the ad is 844-4-NICE-GUYS, and when you call it, you hear Gosling and Crowe’s voices do this funny back-and-forth:

GOSLING: Oh, it’s recording.

CROWE: Hello, you’ve reached the nice guys detective agency. The most reasonably-priced detective agency in the greater Los Angeles area. We cover adultery, missing persons, small crimes and occasionally murder.

GOSLING: Murder costs extra.

CROWE: We solve crimes, we don’t actually murder people.

GOSLING: No we don’t, it just costs extra.

CROWE: Leave us a message once our secretary Cheryl gives you some extra information that keeps us from getting sued.

“Cheryl” then proceeds to tell you that you can leave a message which Warner Bros. will have the rights to use in marketing the film.

“It is an R-rated film and it’s a caper,” director Shane Black (Iron Man 3Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang) recently told People Magazine. “It’s a little fast, a little funny and a little rough in places, kind of coarse. These guys are working-class dudes, they’re not really sophisticated private detectives, so it’s a chance to do the kind of thriller I don’t see too much of anymore.”

Set in Los Angeles in the 1970s, The Nice Guys pairs a fighter and a private detective together as they attempt to solve a murder. Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe star a the titular “nice guys,” alongside Keith David, Matt Bomer, Beau Knapp, Angourie Rice, and Margaret Qualley.

Black co-wrote the script for the film with Anthony Bagarozzi. The Nice Guys is set to debut in theaters on May 20, 2016.
