Dan Stevens Re-Teams with Noah Hawley for Pale Blue Dot

According to The Hollywood Reporter, actor Dan Stevens (Beauty and the Beast) is set to join Oscar winner Natalie Portman (Annihilation) in Pale Blue Dot alongside Jon Hamm (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) and Zazie Beetz (Deadpool 2, Atlanta). The project will re-team Stevens with Legion series creator Noah Hawley.

Pale Blue Dot centers on a married astronaut (Portman) who returns to Earth after a mission and begins an affair with a fellow astronaut (Hamm). She heads into a downward spiral as she loses her connection to her family — a condition that can afflict those who spend a long time in space — and when her lover beings another affair with an astronaut trainee (Beetz), the bottom drops out. Stevens will play the husband she cheats on.

The movie is named for the famous photograph of Earth that was taken by Voyager 1 in 1990. Pale Blue Dot will be directed by Fargo and Legion creator Noah Hawley and is written by Brian C. Brown and Elliot DiGuiseppi.

Stevens can currently be seen on FX’s Legion Season 2, and will next be seen starring in Gareth Evans’ thriller Apostle, and is currently filming Alex Ross Perry’s punk rock drama Her Smell opposite Elisabeth Moss, Amber Heard and Cara Delevingne.
