Justin Timberlake Finds Trouble with the Curve

Announced last October, Clint Eastwood is planning a return to acting with Trouble with the Curve, to be directed by Robert Lorenz. Today, Variety reports that Justin Timberlake is now in talks to appear opposite both Eastwood and the previously announced Amy Adams.

From screenwriter Randy Brown, Trouble with the Curve features Eastwood as a baseball scout who is losing his vision with his age just as he and his daughter (Adams) take a final road trip to Atlanta to check out a prospective talent.

Timberlake would play Johnny Flanagan, a former-pitcher-turned-scout who also serves as Adams’ character’s love interest. Matthew Lillard is also rumored to appear as a rival baseball scout.

Director Lorenz has been working with Eastwood as an assistant director as far back as The Bridges of Madison County. This project will mark his full directing debut and Eastwood’s first time in front of the cameras since 2008’s Gran Torino.

Trouble with the Curve is planned for a September 28th release.
