Boss Baby sequel in the works for 2021
DreamWorks Animation announced today that a Boss Baby sequel is in the works! The Boss Baby 2 will be released by Universal Pictures on Friday, March 26, 2021. Alec Baldwin returns to headline The Boss Baby 2, the follow-up to DreamWorks Animation’s blockbuster animated comedy. The Boss Baby 2 brings back the creative team from the worldwide hit for a new adventure based on award-winning author Marla Frazee’s picture-book series.
The first film, released on March 31, 2017, has earned $468.4 million worldwide, with $167 million coming from North America and $301.4 million from international markets.
The Boss Baby is a hilariously universal story about how a new baby’s arrival impacts a family, told from the point of view of a delightfully unreliable narrator, a wildly-imaginative 7-year old named Tim. With a sly, heart-filled message about the importance of family, DreamWorks’ The Boss Baby is an authentic and broadly appealing original comedy for all ages.
The voice cast also includes Steve Buscemi, Jimmy Kimmel, Lisa Kudrow and Miles Bakshi. The animated film is directed by Tom McGrath and written by Michael McCullers. The Boss Baby is produced by Ramsey Ann Naito.
