New Mutants, Deadpool 2, and Dark Phoenix Release Dates Revealed

Following their reveal that the next four Avatar movies are set to arrive starting in 2020, 20th Century Fox has revealed three more release dates for some of their fan-favorite properties. The first is the long-awaited New Mutants movie, which will debut on April 13, 2018, followed by the highly-anticipated Deadpool 2 on June 1, 2018, and Dark Phoenix on November 2, 2018.

In addition, the studio has announced Shane Black’s The Predator has been delayed from its February 9, 2018 release date to August 3, 2018.

New Mutants hails from director Josh Boone with a cast set to include Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones) as Wolfsbane, Anya Taylor-Joy (The Witch) as Magik, Nat Wolff as Cannonball, and James McAvoy as Professor Charles Xavier. The film is set to open against one of Universal’s rebooted monster movies.

Deadpool 2 will once again star Ryan Reynolds as the Merc with a Mouth alongside Josh Brolin as Cable and Zazie Beetz as Domino. John Wick‘s David Leitch is directing Deadpool 2 from a screenplay by the returning “real heroes here,” screenwriters Reese and Paul Wernick. Reynolds is again serving as a producer on Deadpool 2 alongside X-Men franchise caretakers Simon Kinberg and Lauren Shuler Donner. Currently no other film is scheduled for June 1, 2018.

Details are light on Dark Phoenix, but it was previously reported that Simon Kinberg would write and direct the film. Disney’s Mulan remake is scheduled to arrive on the film’s November 2 release date as well.

Shane Black directs the new Predator movie from a script with his Monster Squad co-writer Fred Dekker. The cast includes Boyd Holbrook, Olivia Munn, Trevante Rhodes, Keegan-Michael Key, Thomas Jane, Jacob Tremblay, Yvonne Strahovski, Alfie Allen, Sterling K. Brown and Edward James Olmos. Two other movies are set for the August 3, 2018 release date, including an untitled live-action Disney movie and Sony’s Holmes and Watson.
