Star Wars: The Force Awakens Breaks Spidey’s Tuesday Record as Well

After breaking Spider-Man 2‘s Monday recordStar Wars: The Force Awakens has now defeated another of Spidey’s records. According to Walt Disney Pictures, Lucasfilm‘s The Force Awakens has set the new Tuesday record with an estimated $37.3 million, besting The Amazing Spider-Man‘s record of $35 million from 2012. Internationally, the movie added $41.3 million on Tuesday for a worldwide total of $78.6 million for the day.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens has now earned $325.4 million domestically and is the fastest film to cross the $300 million mark in five days, surpassing the previous record of eight days set by Jurassic World this June. Overseas, the movie has reached $364 million for a worldwide total of $689.4 million.

Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burk produced the film with Tommy Harper and Jason McGatlin serving as executive producers. The screenplay is by Lawrence Kasdan & J.J. Abrams and Michael Arndt.
