I am heading off to bed as my second day at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival has come to a close. I’ve only seen two competition films so far, but tomorrow brings a full day of three films right in a row beginning with Matteo Garrone‘s Reality, then the Sundance hit Beasts of the Southern Wild and finally Xavier Dolan’s Laurence Anyways.
However, before I collapse I thought I would share a few photos from my first trip to the beach screenings (Cinema de la Plage) held every year at the Cannes Film Festival where I watched the first James Bond feature Dr. No and in the midst of my beach-side enjoyment a fireworks display broke out.
Is there a better way to end the day at a film festival than to be watching Dr. No on the beach in the south of France and at the same time enjoying a massive fireworks display?
