According to Deadline, the amount of butt to be kicked in the Bruce Willis-led thriller Extraction has just gone up a notch as actress/MMA fighter Gina Carano (Haywire, Fast & Furious 6) and Kellan Lutz (The Expendables 3, The Legend of Hercules) are set to join the Steven C. Miller film, which will shoot in Alabama from a script by Umair Aleem and Max Adams.
Willis will play a former CIA operative who hasn’t been the same since his wife was murdered. His son is rookie CIA agent Harry Turner (Lutz) following in his footsteps developing a super-weapon called the Condor. When dad is kidnapped by a terrorist group, Harry launches his own rescue operation which leads to a conspiracy that will change his life forever.
Carano co-stars as Victoria, a tough field operative assigned to hunt down Harry. Dan Bilzerian, Lydia Hull and Tyler Olson also star.
Extraction is produced by Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films’ Randall Emmett and George Furla with Aperture’s Adam Goldworm. Tim Sullivan, Brandon Grimes and Gus Furla as co-producers. The movie will be released in the U.S. in 2016 through Lionsgate/Grindstone.
Carano was recently cast as opposite Ryan Reynolds as mutant Angel Dust in Tim Miller’s Deadpool, and is currently filming Kickboxer: Vengeance opposite Dave Bautista. Lutz has a co-starring role in the Stanley Milgram biopic Experimenter, which debuted at this year’s Sundance Film Festival.
