Michael Dougherty, co-writer of X2: X-Men United and Superman Returns, stepped behind the camera last year for Trick ‘r Treat opening, appropriately, on October 5th via Warner Bros. Now, the fledgling filmmaker has presented a web teaser poster for his film on his MySpace page, setting the chilly tone for what’s to come and harkening back to his early mischievous animated efforts.
In the film, four divergent stories (think Go) advocate why the seemingly fun traditions on All Hallows’ Eve need to be upheld. Trick ‘r Treat centers on the denizens of one small town who are trying to “survive the scariest night of the year.” Anna Paquin (the “X-Men” trilogy), Brian Cox (The Ring), Dylan Baker (Spider-Man 2) and Leslie Bibb (Midnight Meat Train) are just some of the stars who make up the film’s ensemble.
