Ryan Gosling, who received an Oscar nomination for Half Nelson, will direct a feature about child soldiers in Africa.
Variety says the tentatively titled The Lord’s Resistance Army will star nonpros and child soldiers, whom Gosling has helped find in East Africa.
The actor, who is writing the script, has raised nearly all the necessary financing for the project.
Gosling next appears in Fracture opposite Anthony Hopkins and also stars with Patricia Clarkson in MGM’s upcoming Lars and the Real Girl.
