Kevin Greutert Comments on Saw VII Debacle

He’s going to “fight for justice”

Last night, fans of the Saw series and Paranormal Activity started clucking when Nikki Finke broke the scoop that Twisted Pictures was exercising an option and bringing Saw VI‘s Kevin Greutert back to the director’s chair for Saw VII (thus booting out director David Hackl).

It was a slap in the face to Paramount who had recently attached Greutert to Paranormal Activity 2. Both Twisted and Paramount’s sequels were going to vie for box office victory this October 22. The maneuver on Twisted’s part is a power play and while we await an official comment from someone at the company, Greutert had this to say on his site.

I’m in the middle of something really terrible right now, as anyone who has come to this site probably knows. While I fight for justice in this, the important thing is to avoid giving in to hatred and anger, because these emotions are life killers.

Hopefully we will all arrive at an amicable solution. Thank you to everyone who is working with me on this.

“Fight for justice?” Sounds to us that he’d prefer to stick with Paranormal Activity 2
