Actor cast as Mathias
Actor Joe Anderson (next seen in Julie Taymor’s Across the Universe) has been cast as the German traveler Mathias in Carter Smith’s adaptation of The Ruins.
Film is based on the graphic and intense novel penned by Scott Smith (A Simple Plan). As those who have read the book know, Mathias is the catalyst for the story’s events. He’s the one who leads a quartet of American tourists into the jungles of Mexico in search of a friend. What they discover is an archeological dig where something is lying in wait.
Jonathan Tucker, Jena Malone, Laura Ramsey and Shawn Ashmore star. Shooting is now underway in Australia.
