I have high hopes for this film.
Since this will be made (SUPPOSEDLY) after Disney changes their ways and starts making quality animated films again, this could be alright.
Keywords there are COULD BE!

The first time I ever heard of the Frog Princess fairy tale was when HB0 Fairy Tales Every Child did their version. I hope Disney full length version will be even better. Personally I never been bother by either all white, all black or all Asian movies rather than a mixture of culture. If the movie takes place in America one expect a mixture of types but not in a foriegn land.

Personally - my family and I are more than excited about this film. Disney, as great as it is, has been painfully slow in creating a cartoon a Black princess that Black girls can look to. Anyone who reads this and can relate to this can attest that in a world where beauty for women is a core to their being it will be a great change of pace for Black girls to finally have their princess to emmulate.

If it's NOT a computeranimation, it should be good, right?
Those computer animated junk really makes me sick; everything have to be computeranimated these days. Sigh, where are the old-time pencil animators gone to.

Yes very much well said Happy Dad, they have had a Chinese Princess, Indian Princess, and Now they will have an African American Princess. Besides us Caucasian girls have plenty already with Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Ariel, Belle, and The Arabian Princess Jasmine. I also have to agree it nice they are going back to their legendary animation. Its been since 1999's Tarzan that they havent released one. I love Pixar too though.

I agree with anstasia. Computer animation is good but its acting like its replacing the original art with some characters turning to some weird cg form. Though there are many animators that are still on the side of the classic animation. Like the Simpsons creaters airing the cg trailer for their movie were they injure the computer animated rabbit for a movie they joking say that dares to be ugly. Also dont forget the great animation that Brad Bird did for the ending credits of Ratitoulie and that good animatic about the history of rats. I hope too that classic animation will remain forever.

This movie really does seem like a good idea. Im a black teen and i am getting tired of all these only white films with only them and the only blacks are their servants. Agree or disagree i dont care.

Now, now...these stories are from countries that have - you guessed it - Anglo Saxon, Caucasian cultures. They're a part of that culture. I am not fond of just making Cinderella a black girl and calling it a day. Cinderella is Dutch? (I think... I'm not sure, but she wasn't black, Latin or Asian). I like it that way...and I'm a black person.

I'd love to see African fables and stories made in to movies. Or Australian Aborigines, Native American. South American aboriginal people. They have great story telling. Hollywood and fickle consumers just don't 'get it' as a whole.

Until then they'll milk the stories of The Brothers Grimm and Hans Christian Anderson as much as they can. Just keep looking for The Nighting Gale, The Snow Queen. Things like that. I'm sure they're make it to theatres...eventually

To Silverbane: Actually the earliest Cinderella story that can be found at this point in time is CHINESE so what you have stated about these stories coming from Anglo-saxon countries is INCORRECT. The anglo-saxon versions of these stories are the ones that have been distributed the most which is one of the reasons why some people would choose to make all of the characters anglo-saxon as the distributers, themselves, tend to be anglo-saxon and would like very much to glorify themselves. People are people regardless of skin color, but the more diversity the better. This plus the fact that the film is to be hand animated makes this very important to cinema.
