In a conversation with Gorilla Position, McIntyre discussed the possibility of a match with Punk at WWE SummerSlam. While expressing eagerness for the matchup, McIntyre also voiced concern about Punk’s injury history, referring to him as “made of glass.” He stated, “Yeah, I just hope he’s careful. I’m just worried he’s going to injure something else in rehab. The man is made of glass. I want that match. I really want that match. I’m just concerned for him, especially wrestling somebody like me, I’m a monster in there.”
Despite his initial reservations, McIntyre emphasized his desire for the match with Punk. It’s important to note that Punk made it clear to McIntyre that when he returns from rehab, the first person he is coming for is him.

With Punk ready to return on WWE RAW next week, he said he would also participate in WrestleMania 40 despite his injury. The ensuing tension between him and McIntyre is expected to escalate next week on WWE RAW.
