Chris Jericho Match Confirmed for AEW Revolution

Tonight’s AEW Dynamite saw the official confirmation of a new match for AEW Revolution featuring none other than Chris Jericho. This announcement follows an earlier declaration by Tony Khan on X (formerly Twitter), revealing that the scheduled ‘Meat Madness’ match originally slated to pit Wardlow against Powerhouse Hobbs and Lance Archer had been put on hold. Instead, Khan teased further details about an ‘All-Star Scramble.’

During tonight’s AEW Dynamite, the details of the newly added match to AEW Revolution have been confirmed, revealing six out of eight stars who will be competing in this match. The returning Lance Archer, along with Wardlow and Powerhouse Hobbs, was set to compete in the ‘Meat Madness’ match. Notably, the lineup also includes Brian Cage and FTW Champion Hook alongside former WWE Superstar Chris Jericho.

Adding to the anticipation, the final two spots in the match will be determined through qualifying matches on upcoming editions of AEW Rampage and Collision. The Rampage qualifier will feature Matt Sydal against CMLL’s Magnus. Meanwhile, the Collision qualifier will see Penta El Zero Miedo competing against Bryan Keith and Dante Martin.

Chris Jericho’s lionheart gimmick returns ahead of AEW Revolution

On AEW Dynamite, fans were treated to an intense encounter as Chris Jericho brought back his iconic Lionheart gimmick. He faced off against CMLL’s Atlantis Jr., son of the legendary luchador. This marked Jericho’s return to the ring following his last match against Konosuke Takeshita, where he faced defeat on February 7, 2024.

In an electrifying match, Jericho squared off against Atlantis Jr., showcasing his skills and experience in the ring. Despite the fierce competition, Jericho managed to secure victory by locking in his signature Walls of Jericho submission hold.

Following the match, a moment of mutual respect unfolded as Atlantis Jr. and his father, both legends in their own right, joined Jericho in the ring. The trio exchanged gestures of respect, acknowledging each other’s contributions to the world of professional wrestling. Notably, Jericho shared a heartfelt hug with his former rival Atlantis.
