Drew McIntyre Breaks Silence on WWE Contract Rumors

Drew McIntyre has commented on his WWE contract status amid reports of it being set to expire shortly after WrestleMania 40. Drew’s contract status has been a hot talking point online in recent months due to its uncertainty.

As it currently stands, McIntyre has yet to put pen to paper on a new deal with the company. And, the latest update is that both sides are hoping to reach an agreement for a new contract. With his WWE contract reportedly set to expire after WrestleMania, Drew McIntyre has finally broken his silence about the rumors in a recent interview.

During an interview with West Sport, Drew McIntyre was asked about reports stating that his contract is set to expire. He replied by saying, “I can’t talk about that. I’ll let the internet talk about it. I’ll just keep watching. It’s interesting. I’m not the only one that has a contract in WWE. It’s just interesting that it seems to be mine that is on there every week for a year.”

McIntyre’s cryptic comments have left fans guessing whether he will re-sign with WWE or venture into new territories. McIntyre is keeping his focus on the prize, which is to win the men’s Elimination Chamber, followed by winning the title from Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40.

Drew McIntyre has not signed a new WWE contract, According to Dave Meltzer

The situation of Drew McIntyre still seems up in the air. As of a few days ago, WWE has been promoting its summer shows in Italy and the Bash in Berlin event in August, with McIntyre featured in these promotions.

Wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer has now shed light on the McIntyre situation on Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer stated, “The answer to that is no he has not signed a new deal, but he seems very happy so far with his new character and he’s really excited about it, and they’re working with the idea that he’s not going anywhere. But nothing’s signed. I think the talk of him taking a lot of time off and everything like that – probably not. He’ll probably sign a new deal. But it’s still just a ‘probable’ until it happens.”

This leaves fans to speculate on The Scottish Warrior’s future. Will he re-sign or seek new horizons? Only time will tell.
