Hulu has released the Only Murders in the Building Season 5 trailer for the upcoming return of the acclaimed mystery comedy. The highly anticipated next installment is now set to make its debut on September 9 with the first three episodes, followed by new episodes weekly.
“After their beloved doorman, Lester, dies under suspicious circumstances, Charles, Oliver, and Mabel refuse to believe it was an accident. Their investigation plunges them into the shadowy corners of New York and beyond – where the trio uncovers a dangerous web of secrets connecting powerful billionaires, old-school mobsters, and the mysterious residents of the Arconia,” reads the Season 5 synopsis. “The trio discovers a deeper divide between their storied city they thought they knew and the new New York evolving around them – one where the old mob fights to hold on as newer, even more dangerous players emerge.”

Who is in the Only Murders in the Building Season 5 trailer?
The video teases the introduction of the new characters, who will be joining Mabel, Oliver, and Charles in their next investigation. The trailer teases the arrival of Bobby Cannavale, Beanie Feldstein, Jermaine Fowler, Keegan-Michael Key, Renée Zellweger, Logan Lerman, Christoph Waltz, and Téa Leoni. The latter has already made a brief appearance as Sofia Caccimelio towards the end of the Season 4 finale, which saw the sudden death of Arconia doorman Lester.
Only Murders in the Building Season 5 will once again be led by Selena Gomez as Mabel, Martin Short as Oliver, and Steve Martin as Charles. The returning cast also includes Michael Cyril Creighton, Meryl Streep, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Richard Kind, and Nathan Lane. The series hails from co-writers and co-creators Steve Martin and John Hoffman (Grace & Frankie). It is executive produced by Martin, Hoffman, Short, Gomez, Jamie Babbitt, Dan Fogelman, and Jess Rosenthal.
